Snuggy or Snuggie?
Snuggy is the not so common spelling of the latest craze to hit America and worldwide…the snuggie. It is not a huge surprise that some people miss out on the spelling and spell snuggie as snuggy. I can think of a few ways that even the most intelligent people could make this simple mistake. Let us look at a few scenarios that can lead someone to misspell snuggie as snuggy.
First case we have is what I would think is the most common one. If someone has simply never seen the commercial before and has only talked about “snuggys” to friends or family. It is really not that hard to mix up an I.e. with a Y. In fact, it is a pretty common thing in the English language. For example “doggie and doggy”. So we can cut this person some slack.
The second case is not as forgiving as the first case however. This person as seen the commercials, has been to several snuggy websites and has the word snuggy plastered in front of the perhaps 100’s of time. The only problem them is they seem to just be letter blind to how the word is actually spelled. It is not as common as the first example I know but trust me I have seen it happen First hand. Not going to mention any names ;).
The third kind of person that spells snuggie as snuggy is just unforgiveable. This is the same person that will spell their as there. This is the person that will always use to when he should use too. This person has no respect at all for the English language and just wants to write things “their way”. There is no helping or correcting this kind of person. They like spelling snuggy and that is how it’s going to be!
